A new year, a new beginning, a new world, a new monthly prediction.

2026 starts on an interesting note as, in the next few months, we will have clusters of planets all in the same signs. We start the year with The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all in Sagittarius. Mid to late January will have all of these planets joining Pluto in Capricorn. In February, we will have the cluster in Aquarius, joining Rahu.
This is not the most rare alignment in the world, yet it is interesting and notable. Last I can remember something similar happened was around early 2020, also 2013 — which I had to check with the computer.
But going back to the point, this is an interesting alingment as it shows a concentrated energy in a certain sign of the zodiac. Imbibing us with that sign’s energy.
With Sagittarius, from Jan 1st up until Jan 14th, we will feel more energetic and directed. Sagittarius is all about hitting the target, so everything now deals with goals, decisions and putting force into a direction. Plans of travel and study can figure strongly now. Honestly, this is a great start for the year, in terms of will-power and being productive.
Mundane, this Sagittarius force can deal with increased conflict, strong declarations and maybe even attacks happening. Being a time of force, we will see forceful actions from leaders and those in power.
Moving on, from Jan 17th up until Feb 5th we will have a Capricorn cluster. Capricorn is all about work, career and taking care of responsibilities. Kinda boring, in a way. Still, a great moment to organize and deal with your career.
Mundane, Capricorn deals a lot with bureaucrats and institutions. So we can see meetings, conferences and resolutions issued by big institutions. Maybe the UN or similar. Corporate decisions and announcements can also figure strongly.

These clusters, in a way, will set the mood of the month in these two phases. First a directed, strong and bold Sagittarius phase. A time where things will be strongly pushed and advanced, declarations and moves will be made, etc. The second phase will be a Capricorn moment, more business oriented, calmer to some degree.
Between these phases, we will have other events. Like The Full Moon (Jan 3rd) in Ardra, which itself is a chaotic and explosive star. Representing storms, destructions and extremes. But the Full Moon will happen opposing a Mars-Venus conjunction, and trining Rahu.
This will deal with strong desires being revealed, as well as passionate speeches in the world. It is a strong time for ideology and dogma, rather than logic. Again, favoring my earlier point that we can see strong declarations and forceful actions.
January 9th will have a Sun-Mars conjunction, which is a fiery combination by itself, but in Sagittarius it becomes even stronger. So around that date we can have violent events, as well as fires or electrical accidents.
On the 15th, Mars will enter Capricorn, where it will transit until February 23rd. This is the exaltation sign of Mars, where it acts in the most productive manner. So the months ahead are a great moment to work and advance our projects.
The New Moon on the 18th happens on Uttara Ashada, a nakshatra related to great victories, as well as great declarations. It will happen with Mars, Mercury, Sun, Moon, Venus and Pluto all in Uttara Ashada. This is a strong New Moon, it again signals the idea of big declarations being made in the month ahead.
The days after the New Moon are, in a way, more of the same trends I explained above. With the notable mentions of the 20th, where Mars will trine Uranus, and this could deal with surprising twists and events; as well as electrical accidents, fires and tech outages.
The days around the 23rd-27th are also of note, as the Sun and Mars will be conjunct Pluto. This can deal with power struggles, strong events, as well as turbulences in the world. Again, highlighting the themes mentioned above of great declarations or shifts happening.
Summary
Mundane
2026 has a strong start, judging by January. A lot of the astrological influences show a time of big declarations, big decisions and great power moves in the world. We can see conflict with those in power, as well as violent events. It can also be a time of fires, electrical accidents or tech outages.
It can be a turbulent month, as well as a time of great change. It should be noted that things will keep speeding, maybe even more, in the next few months. February will have a Solar Eclipse, starting the first round of Eclipses in 2026. As Eclipses are the big catalysts of change, February and March are specially noted as moments of change in 2026. In a way, January is our appetizer.
The whole month can deal with strong events and intense situations. But the first half figures strongly with big pushes and direct conflict, with the Sagittarius energy. The second half, in Capricorn, deals more with declarations and bureaucratic movements being made.
Notable dates in January:
- 3rd
- 9th
- 15th
- 18th
- 20th
- 23rd-27th
Personal
On a personal level, I truly believe that January can be an excellent month to many of us.
All of the influences mentioned above, that show turbulences in the world, have the effect of giving us energy on a personal level. 2026 starts the year energizing us, like a strong cup of coffee. It can be a great time to power through projects, cut through the noise/excuses and start building things in our lives.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions, but this year is a great one for making them. We start the year with such a rush, such a great energy, to make things; that it would be foolish not to make the best of it.
Goals, decisions and enthusiasm are greatly favored in this first half of January — also the leftover December of when I publish this text — making it an excellent time to get started. The later part of January, with the Capricorn influence, will be great for organizing and planning; which can be a needed pit stop to make our goals and plans last.
Overall, 2026 starts on a great note for those wanting to make personal change, start something and advance their lives.
Editorial
Yikes, I can’t believe it’s 2026! Time passages have always intrigued me, ever since I was a child, and this one is no different. I can’t believe that I started this website in 2022, and that I’m about 4 years into this. It no longer feels “just like yesterday”, and I strongly feel that I matured in the way I deal with astrology and my writings here. But it is still a very notable passage of time to experience.
2025, at least for me, went as fast as an F1 car in a tight race. I sadly didn’t publish as much as I wanted to, as life and other projects got in the way, but I was still able to publish what I consider essential. Which is mundane/predictive astrology, like this text.
This type of content/predictions was what first got me interested in astrology, and what made me fall in love with it. And I’m very glad that I could give and share my point of view here last year. And boy was 2025 a busy year in predictive astrology!
We had:
- Saturn changing signs, into Pisces
- Uranus changing signs, into Taurus
- Saturn conjunct Neptune
- Uranus trine Pluto
- Rahu and Ketu switching signs, into Aquarius/Leo
- Plus the usual plethora of Eclipses and Jupiter changing signs
- and probably more stuff that I forgot, and can’t be bothered to check.
For those unfamiliar, this is an unusual year. Saturn and Uranus aren’t changing signs every year, and a lot of these aspects are rare occurrences. Hopefully, I managed to warn and help some of you with my predictions throughout 2025.
Still, my natal and nakshatra texts took a toll in 2025. I published only two stars this year, Chitra and Jyeshtha. Hopefully, in 2026, I will finish all 27 stars. I make no promise of that, though, as I feel that I saved the best for last in a way.
Some of the nakshatras I’m missing have always intrigued/annoyed me. Whichever book, or author, I consult I get the same platitudes. The same clichés. And the same lack of depth. Also the feeling that authors are walking on eggshells, trying to say the least possible, because they are unsure. Something I can’t really relate to.
If you are unsure, just say you are unsure. That’s what I do. Ba-da-bing. Ba-da-bong. The world will not end because you admitted that you have doubts. Questions become answers, and this is how knowledge advances. Skirting around, and pretending you know what you don’t know, gets no answers to anyone or anything.
Rohini has been the most notable case of this. Always the same loose ideas, not much depth into it, and I like depth. I want depth! So I went to search for it, and I can gladly say that I found it. Same for some of the other missing nakshatras in my “honey do” list.
Even where I didn’t find depth, I can gladly say that I found clarity, and I will write clarity. If I don’t know, I will tell you that I don’t know. If something is weird, I will tell you the weirdness. And so on and so forth. I will not beat around the bush, because he is not even president anymore, last I checked.
Anyways, in 2026 I will publish more on natal placements and the nakshatras, so do check back for that.
…
On a final editorial note, I truly believe that 2026 is a great year for making changes and advancements, specially these early months. I know it is cliché to say that the new year, and January, are the best moment for change. But I hate clichés, and I’m not justing saying this, I truly believe it.
I even bothered to check my Jan 2025 predictions, where I basically said the complete opposite:
On a personal level, January is not a great moment for personal change, there is a lot of volatility in the air and Mars retrograde doesn’t favor pushing ahead. In my view, New Year’s resolutions will have a hard time going forward this year.
january 2025 predictions
So again, I’m not just saying this to be a cheerleader or life coach selling junk on Instagram. I believe it and I see it.
The Sagittarius energy that ends 2025, and starts 2026, has us in a great mood to get started with things. We have all the enthusiasm with us. We should make the best of it, use this momentum to push forward with important and meaningful projects.
The Capricorn energy, later in January and February, will help us get organized and make our earlier enthusiasm more sustainable long-term. It will be a great moment for planning, reassessing and structuring.
So let us all hope and try to make the best of this!
