May has the interesting point of starting and ending with Full Moons. The Full Moon signals a point of fruition, where things become clear, representing a strong energy or key point about a certain month. Last month, for instance, we started April with a Hasta Full Moon, showing deception and underhanded tactics.
This time, a Full Moon in Swati shows surprises and being thrown on a loop. Swati represents the wind, showing things being uprooted or scattered. Adding fuel to the fire, the Full Moon will form a yod to Venus and Saturn. The yod is known as the “finger of destiny” and it indicates forceful and complicated events.
I believe this shows that early May can deal with a lot of instability and maybe economic issues. Saturn shows stability, while Venus can represent wealth and agreements. So this can be a time of promises being broken, disagreements and conflict.
Pluto will turn retrograde on May 6th, which puts the planet stationary for much of the first week of the month. This bestows a strong Pluto energy in the air. As Pluto deals with power and control, power struggles and disputes can be specially strong in early May.
On May 11th, Mars will enter Aries, where it will transit until June 20th. Aries is the natural sign of Mars, making this a mostly good transit. Still, the transition from a Water sign to a Fire sign can be troublesome, so between May 9th and 11th could be a time of conflict or intense weather.
As Aries deals a lot with fighting, Mars here can reinforce conflicts around the world, so not a great moment for peace I’d say.

The New Moon this month happens on Krittika nakshatra on the 16th. This New Moon will happen conjunct Mercury and Uranus, so it can deal a lot with new information being revealed. So informations, secrets and discoveries are a strong theme in the second half of this month. The 19th can specially deal with this, as Mercury will form a trine Pluto.
The 22nd can be an eventful date, as the Sun will be conjunct Uranus, activating the planet. As I previously mentioned, much of our current issues are related to Uranus in Taurus. Supply chains, economies, storage and stability are all ruled by this sign. The Sun here can activate Uranus and lead to some kind of culmination.
The second Full Moon this month happens in Anuradha nakshatra, a star that deals a lot with frienship, partnership and devotion. This Full Moon is kinda of a mixed bag. On one hand, a trine to Saturn could show good developments and stability. On the other hand, a quincunx to Mars could show conflict and further instability.
How will this play out is debatable, either way, this Full Moon in Anuradha is more of a June factor than a May factor. So I will go deeper into it on June’s predictions.
A notable mention from June is that Jupiter will change signs, leaving Gemini and entering Cancer. Jupiter in Cancer will be the main influence for the rest of 2026 and the first half of 2027. Jupiter will make a short venture into Leo, from November this year until January 2027. Still, the main influence going forward will be Jupiter in Cancer.
This is the best sign for Jupiter, so Jupiter here could show some improvements from June and onwards. I write of this, as we start May, as a light in the end of the tunnel of sorts.
Summary
Mundane
May starts on a complicated note, as Pluto will be the dominant influence in the air. Pluto is all about power struggles. So negotiations get tougher. Similarly, we can see disingenuous behavior and power grabs happening in early May. The Full Moon on the 1st can similarly trigger some complicated events.
Overall, May can deal a lot with turbulences and surprises. Much of the volatility of April is still present, although May will have some normalcy as the world gets used to some of the disruptions happening. To make a metaphor, this is more like getting used to the winter, rather than the start of summer. We are not out of the cold, we are just used to it.
Mars in Aries can deal a lot with fights and prominent conflicts. Feuds will be specially highlighted in the news now. Also, around the 9th-11th, we could deal with extreme weather or fires.
Besides that, I find important to note that June will signal bigger shifts, so a lot this month can deal with endings or compromises for the changes further ahead.
Notable dates in May:
- 1st-7th
- 1st
- 6th
- 9th-11th
- 16th
- 19th-22nd
- 25th/26th

Personal
On a personal level, May is a bridge. A transition between the energies of the past, and what is coming ahead for us.
The strongest influence of 2025 and this year has been Saturn conjunct Neptune, and that influence will start to wane this month, as the conjunction separates. Aspect orbs are a subject of much debate in Astrology, but 8° is usually agreed as a weak orb, similarly showing a weak influence.
From May 29th and onwards, Saturn will be about 8° away from Neptune, peaking at 10° of distance around July. This shows the end of this influence.
Similarly, June 1st will have Jupiter in a new sign, also promoting a change and new influences in the world.
So May sits in between, with what we lived from 2025 until now, and what is coming ahead for us.
I find interesting that these final months of Saturn-Neptune came in such a martian moment. Last month with Mars joining both planets, in Pisces. This month with Mars in his natural sign of Aries.
Saturn and Neptune are both fairly apathetic influences, tending to show depression or lack of movement. Meanwhile, Mars is the dynamo that fires us up. This makes for a serendipitous ending, at least on a personal level. Saturn-Neptune has a knack for unveiling crisis, which can lead to bouts of depression or lethargy. Mars has been helping us get out of this funk, take action and change things.
On that note, May is a lot about making change, making decisions and putting ourselves out there. Changing the things that concerned us the most, from 2025 and now, can be a good starting point.
The next two months are a strong time for renewal, as we fix and make amends with the past, and as we welcome new influences coming into play. June specially will be a great time for starting fresh.
