I don’t know who needs to hear this, but life is not a movie. We don’t get timeskips. We don’t get dance montages. And we don’t get magical endings that solve everything. Life is life, movies are movies. That’s the way it is. And yet, many people are poisoned by fiction, they believe those artificial scenarios to be real, and they expect life to unfold like a movie.

In occult circles, this usually comes in the form of a mass awakening. The magical day where everyone will wake-up, movie ending style, and realize the truth. After that, the whole world will change! Divisions will end. Hunger will end. I will be able to cook without getting all sweaty and gross, and craving a nice long shower. Wars will end. All problems will be solved!

Except that life is life, and what I described above is a Hallmark movie. Probably one starring an aged beauty queen actress, that can’t really act that much. Jokes aside, movie ending mass awakenings aren’t real. They don’t happen. Stop expecting them.

Awakenings are real; people do discover the truth, but it is many times the exact opposite of a movie. In the movies, everyone does it together, like that annoying John Lennon song. In reality, people do it alone and they get tons of pushback; they will be called conspiracy theorists, they might even go to jail.

In the movies, the truth will set you free. In reality, the truth will get people angry and riled up, because comfortable lies are easier to handle than the truth. People want the truth; if the truth is easy, clean, comfy and presented by their favorite news anchors; many of which are paid to lie and shill, so they will seldom tell the truth about anything.

In movies, the truth is usually a beautiful cotton-candy vision. In real life, the truth is many times something disgusting, scary and weird. I could go on and on.

The point is that people should stop getting their minds warped by fiction. Not just on this subject, by the way, our whole lives nowadays are affected by this warping. Sometimes I think that fiction should come with warning labels, just like cigarettes do. But do you want to know something?

There will be no mass awakening to the idea that mass awakenings aren’t real. Life isn’t a movie, just because I wrote a text, doesn’t mean that the world will wake up to the truth. I’m fully aware of this, but so should others.
