February 2026 in Astrology

Not that 2026 has been calm, but February will speed things up. The month will start with an intense Uranus influence, that promotes disruption and surprises. And it will end amongst a Solar Eclipse and Mercury turning retrograde.

Let’s take a step back and look at some of the events of January.

  • Nicolas Maduro arrest
  • Yet again, tension in Iran
  • Forest fires in Argentina and Chile

On my January predictions, I highlighted the possibility of fires, hailing from both the Mars-Sun conjunction early last month and the Mars-Uranus trine in late January. I also said that these aspects could deal with tensions, protests and clashes; which can be exemplified by Iran, as well as some of the protests happening in the US. On Maduro, I had specifically noted Jan 3rd as an eventful date.

Besides a humble-brag, I find this recap important, as some of these themes and places mentioned will tend to recur, specially now in February.

Going into February, we start with Uranus stationary. The planet will turn direct on the 3rd, so there is a slow down from about Jan 31st up until Feb 6th. During this period, Uranus will be more intense and prominent. So it can be a time of surprises, rebellion, big changes, or events related to electricity.

Also very early, we have a Full Moon in Ashlesha, itself a nakshatra that deals a lot with betrayal and conflict, but with an opposition to Mars, this Full Moon gets a strong theme of conflict. We start February with high emotions, people can be feisty and prone towards lashing out. Underhanded actions, or schemes, are also a strong theme under this influence.

Putting two and two together, the first week of February can be a shocking and emotional time. Sudden events could rile up people and create great conflict.

As I’ve mentioned last month, we are having big clusters of planets all in one sign. The year started with this in Sagittarius, we end January with a cluster in Capricorn, and February will have it in Aquarius.

Starting on the 12th, we will have Sun, Venus, Rahu and Mercury all in Aquarius. This strong Aquarius impulse will favor technology, innovation and discovery. But it will also favor radicalism, intense ideas and political conflict. I expect the political tensions of January to continue, and intensify in February.

Mars will be the final planet to make the switch into Aquarius, on the 23rd, leaving us with five Aquarius planets in late February. Up until March 1st, when Venus will enter Pisces. Still, four planets in the same sign is nothing to shrug off. We will have the four amigos up until March 14th, when the Sun will enter Pisces.

So tallying it up, we will have a strong Aquarius energy from about February 12th up until March 14th. Again, this can be a time dealing a lot with politics, technology, radicalism and extremes around the world.

Also notable in February is that we have the exact Saturn-Neptune conjunction happening on the 20th. I’ve been discussing this aspect since 2024, as it pertains to a time of cultural change in the world. With the exact aspect this month, things will certainly feel heavier, and we might feel stronger changes happening.

The star of the show this month, however, is a Solar Eclipse on the 17th. The Eclipse will happen in Dhanishtha nakshatra, a star symbolized by a drum. It is usually related to wealth and success. It shows the hollowness of life, that can be transformed through our touch and involvement. It deals with creating, making and finding meaning in life.

The Solar Eclipse will happen with a powerful square to Uranus, which intensifies the Aquarius energy of change and transformation. This Eclipse can deal a lot with great revelations and changes, in regards to politics and technology.

The Eclipse will be visible around the South of South America (read that three times, fast), so again the themes and issues around Argentina and Chile can be highlighted. As Eclipses are long spanning, those two countries could be dealing with change and conflict in the coming months, maybe for most of the first half of 2026.

The Eclipse will also be visible around South Africa, so events and changes there could also be prominent.

After the Eclipse, late in the month, we have Mercury retrograde on the 26th, it begets the usual precautions and my favorite gif:

Mercury is the planet of communications, so everything related to communications could be slowed down. Computer problems, miscommunications, delays in deliveries and other kinds of issues become possible. Avoid mistakes by double checking and confirming things, and try to be patient when problems arise.

On the 27th, Mars will form an exact square to Uranus. Mars-Uranus hard aspects are always tense, but with this happening in the tail of Mercury retro and between Eclipses, things can be specially feisty. February can end on a shocking note; with conflicts, fiery events and clashes around the world.

Going a little further, March 1st will have Mars transiting the exact degree of the Solar Eclipse, reactivating those energies and possibly triggering more events.

Also notable is that we will have a Lunar Eclipse on March 3rd, I will write more about it later. But it is important to note that the weeks around Eclipses are always hectic, possibly eventful times. The Charlie Kirk assassination happened shortly after a Lunar Eclipse last year, for instance. With that in mind, I highlight the second half of February, from the 17th and onwards, as a time to be carefully observed.

Summary

Mundane

February keeps the feisty rhythm of January. The second half of the month can be specially eventful, with the cluster of planets in Aquarius and the Solar Eclipse. Still, the first half doesn’t fall that much behind, as we can start with feisty conflicts and surprises.

The month can deal a lot with technology, electricity, fires, storms and intense weather.

We will also deal a lot with radical politics and conflict regarding that.

Issues in South America, specially Chile and Argentina, could be prominent; specially in late February.

Notable dates in February:

  • 3rd
  • 12th
  • 17th
  • 20th
  • 26th-27th
  • 28th

Personal

We start February with the cluster of planets in Capricorn that I mentioned last month. This favors organizing, making plans and decisions.

But February is truly about two things, on a personal level: the Aquarius cluster and Saturn-Neptune.

The Aquarius cluster is a great time to break personal taboos. Try new things, experiment, find the courage to discover something new that you’ve always wanted, etc.

It is also a great time to truly understand our ideas, and understand what is truly important in life. What do we really think, what do we really want to do, what should we really focus on; are some of the questions that can arise here.

With Saturn-Neptune, the aspect is really intense the months ahead, specially in February. This aspect deals with making dreams reality, or with dealing with harsh truths, and reducing our illusions about life and the world.

On that note, this month can be a time of wake-up calls in our lives. We can be forced to face issues head on, instead of lying to ourselves or distracting ourselves away from them.

In a way, this month is about acknowledging reality, seeing things for what they are, understanding our problems and limitations. But also using this newfound reality to create, improve and achieve.

Late February, with Mercury retro, might not be the best moment for travel. The early parts of the month are mostly ok, although some surprises could arise. Keep plans flexible.

A final note deals with the Solar Eclipse. People with planets around 4° in the fixed signs (Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio) can feel this Eclipse more strongly. Maybe some surprises or big life changes can happen now.

From my Eclipses Guide (a recommended reading), I usually say that these personal effects are only notable when conjunct or opposing the Eclipse, which would be Aquarius and Leo.

But the true strong, life changing, effects of Eclipses only come when a personal point in our charts is touched by one. That is, when a planet is within 5° conjunct or opposing an Eclipse.

How Will The Eclipse Affect Me?

However, with the Uranus aspect in this Eclipse, I see an exception and I believe that Taurus and Scorpio could also be affected this time. So do check if your chart has a planet in these degrees of these signs!

Bye-Bye, Miss Mercury Pie

Mercury will finally move out of Pisces next Tuesday night (6th), it has been on the sign since February 27th, tallying up about 68 days. As I’ve said on my May predictions, predicting something and living it are two entirely different things. This Mercury is another example of this.

I knew we were having a long stay of Mercury in Pisces, and I know that this is not the best sign placement for Mercury, so I knew that problems were possible with this transit. But actually living it, with delays, technical issues and problems along the way is a whole different experience.

Unrelated, but I love this image

Looking back, the last time a long Mercury in Pisces transit happened was in 2018, from March 2nd to May 9th, also about 68 days. I similarly remember many delays and issues in the early portion of that year. Again, the cycles of astrology and how we can use them for planning.

I avoided scheduling anything too technical or complicated for this early part of 2024, and I’m glad I did that. The few things that popped up were either essential or unavoidable.

Still, I’m glad to inform that things will become easier moving forward. Mercury in Aries and the signs beyond are way better for technical and detailed work, so we will see some improvements in this regard.

I’m also glad to inform that 2026 will have no such long Pisces venture. Mercury in Pisces will be a normal, fairly short, transit in 2026. From April 10th to April 29th 2026, about 19 days.
