April will be a very interesting month astrologically. This month we will have a Solar Eclipse in Aries. Jupiter changing signs, and approaching Rahu and Uranus. We will also have Mercury turning retrograde.

With Eclipses, the simplest and best thing to understand is: expect the unexpected. Eclipses can trigger sudden shifts and changes, in the world and in our lives, so this April-May period should be watched carefully. On a personal level, it is not uncommon to notice or deal with major change about a month before or after a Solar Eclipse. Things like job changes, marriage proposals, discovery of secrets and overall life changes tend to happen around those times.
Changes related to the matters ruled by the Aries and Libra house of your chart are possible, specially if you have a planet sitting at around 5° of either sign, close to the degrees of the Eclipse. For those with a planet like this in their chart, the coming months will likely be strong moments of change in their lives.
This Eclipse will happen with a very tight aspect to Pluto, a planet that deals a lot with power and control. So it wouldn’t be surprising to see political issues coming into play around this time, with dissatisfaction against powerful people or those in charge. Overall, there is a strong energy for protests and political change this month, as well as a May.
Besides, the Eclipse, a major change this month will deal with Jupiter entering the sign of Aries. Jupiter changing signs is always an important event, as Jupiter defines the year’s energies, so going from Pisces to Aries itself is a big change. But this becomes even more interesting as Jupiter will approach Rahu and Uranus, both transiting Aries as well.
Jupiter takes about a year transiting each sign so, from now until May 2024, this transit becomes an important influence. I plan to discuss more on Jupiter in Aries in another post, but the gist of it deals with rebellion. Both Rahu and Uranus deal with independence, a quest for freedom and outbursts. So this is a strong time for protests, agitation and changes in society. Specially in regards to politics, changes and reversals become a strong possibility with this influence.
The combined influence of Jupiter and the Eclipses make this a very tense moment, with intensified tensions regarding the global economy as well as war and conflict around the world. Big decisions and big announcements will tend to happen in the coming months.
On a personal level, this Jupiter transit puts forth a great opportunity for transformation in the Aries part of our lives. For example, Cancer could have strong changes in career, as Aries is the 10th house. While Libra could be dealing with major relationship changes.
Another influence this month, also late in it, deals with Mercury retrograde. Mercury will be retrograde from April 21st until May 14th. Mercury is the planet of communications, so everything related to communications could be slowed down. Computer problems, miscommunications, delays in deliveries and other kinds of problems become possible. Avoid mistakes by double checking and confirming things, and try to be patient when problems arise.
Looking at this month, the most noticeable events happen on the end of the month, going into May. The first part of April will tend to be less eventful. A Full Moon in Virgo, on April 6th, will happen with an interesting aspect to Uranus. This Full Moon could highlight problem areas in our lives, as well as areas where we have been deceived or manipulated by others.
