June 2025 in Astrology

June is a fresh start, as the astrological influences of 2024 are all vanishing. I know it is strange to talk about a fresh start half-way through the year, but astrology doesn’t always match the calendar year. 2025 was an extreme case of this.

In a way, these early months of 2025 were more of a “2024 Continued” than a new beginning. Now we enter new territory.

Saturn changed signs in March. Jupiter changed signs in May, Rahu/Ketu did too. In April, Uranus ended its 7 year transit in Aries, entering Taurus until around 2032. These are basically all the main mundane astrology indicators, their simultaneous change will similarly reflect changing tides in the world.

On a smaller level, other factors are also vanishing. Mars had been between Gemini and Cancer since August last year. On June 6th, Mars will enter Leo and move away from that 2024 energy.

Similarly, we start June with just Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. We’ve had most of the planets in Pisces since around March, up until the end of May. That Pisces emphasis made us more emotional, melancholic and prone towards dwelling in the past.

To put it short and sweet, June will be a fresh start. New things will come into play. Things will change and move on. A strong trend towards breaking new ground will come into play.

Of course, not everything is beautiful. Mars will be gandanta between June 6th and June 8th, which could promote a feisty weekend, with great conflicts and confrontations. Mars in Leo will also deal with a Mars-Ketu conjunction, that can show violence and terrorism.

Technically, Mars-Ketu will be in effect the whole time that Mars transits Leo, so from June 6th to July 28th. But the height of the transit happens during the close conjunction of the two, which will be mostly in July, between July 7th to July 28th.

With that in mind, I believe July will make for a feisty summer in the world.

The Full Moon this month happens in Jyeshtha nakshatra, a star ruled by Indra, related to any kind of powerful and blusterful person. It is also related to police, military and journalists. The Full Moon will happen with a perfect Grand Cross, as Rahu and Ketu will square both the Sun and the Moon.

This aspect will put more emphasis on the Full Moon, making it more important and possibly eventful.

We are likely to see issues related to police, sex scandals or powerful individuals coming into play. Some event regarding Trump is also possible, as Jyeshtha is his birth star. I tend to believe a lot of this will be related to the past.

Past issues could come up now, and be reviewed — or undone — in some manner. The issues of 2020 are a possibility. I also believe that some “Me Too era” cases could be reawakened and reviewed.

The days after the Full Moon could be eventful, specially the 15th. That day Mars will square Uranus exactly, that aspect can deal with shocking events, as well as accidents (specially plane accidents) and electrical fires. This aspect will be in effect for most of June.

The New Moon this month happens on Ardra nakshatra, this star is related to thunder, storms and destruction. The prominence of this nakshatra always tends to represent chaos and turmoil.

On the New Moon specifically, the chart will be very notable. Jupiter will be conjunct the New Moon; and all three planets will be in a quincunx to Pluto, a square to Saturn and Neptune, and a sextile to Mars.

If you are not familiar with aspects and names, don’t worry about it, just understand that this is a New Moon with many aspects. Usually, you will have only a few and not that strong aspects. But with so many of them, and most fairly strong, this New Moon becomes a notable and possibly eventful moment.

Following a similar trend to the Full Moon, the New Moon will deal a lot with conflicts related to power and authority. Sudden events and reversals could cause turmoil, revolt and protests. Some reality checks are possible, shattering some illusions.

Also, the final weeks of June will be colored by Neptune’s stationary movement, as the planet will turn retrograde in early July. Neptune’s station always deals with illusions being shattered, in one way or another, which again goes along with other trends of June.

Summary

Mundane

June is the first month of 2025 to be free of astrological influences from 2024. This means that we are (finally) moving on. The question is: at what cost?

I tend to see the month ahead as a time of chaos, turmoil and conflict. The trends tell me that we might see scandal and great debacles happening. Some other influences show aggression and accidents, specially electrical or air-travel ones.

We can also see the past reawakened, with Me Too issues, 2020 issues and problems in regards to police coming back into public discourse. A lot of past issues could be reviewed or undone in some manner.

The days around the Full Moon, on the 11th; and the New Moon, on the 25th, can be specially eventful. I would also highlight the 15th too.

Overall, we are walking into a hot summer and quite a ride ahead.

Personal

On a personal level, I find June very interesting for us. The previous months could have been all about re-living past issues, or feeling stuck to old ways. June is a new page, for good and bad, as we start moving on and thinking fresh.

There is a strong sense of renewal in the air, as most of the astrological influences have changed from early 2025.

On a practical sense, we might notice this by new opportunities, new ideas, new projects and new desires. A strong need to “move on” can dominate our thinking. This is a great moment for a fresh start, to try something new and shift gears in life.

Some can feel confused about where to go, or what to do, but overall we feel the bug of change in us. And hey, astrological guidance can help you decide a path.

Whichever path we decide to take, the winds are favorable towards change now. The months ahead of 2025 are a lot about healing, renewal and growth. Letting go of the past and embracing the new will be a big part of this.

Rahu/Ketu in Aquarius/Leo (2025-2026)

The shift of the nodal axis is always very important, as this is the main karmic indicator in astrology, also showing in which signs the eclipses will happen. The transiting position of the nodes always shows the collective karma that the world is dealing with, as well as our collective desires and obsessions. Rahu shows a point of obsession, as well as an area of focus. Ketu shows a point of detachment, its position shows an area of life where we might be lacking at a specific moment, matters here will feel diminished or reduced. Ketu also represents an area where we might find closure or some kind of ending.

The previous cycle in Pisces/Virgo was a very interesting moment. Rahu expanded and highlighted Pisces, a sign that deals with dreams, illusions and an escapist view of the world. Throughout 2024, people were consumed by illusions and impractical ideas. People believed that their desired outcomes would happen, solely because they believed and cherished them. Rude awakenings happened, and are still happening in 2025. Similarly, Ketu in Virgo reduced the need/desire for practicality, adding fuel to the fire described above.

SignDates
Rahu/Ketu in Pisces/Virgo30/10/2023 until 18/05/2025
Rahu/Ketu in Aquarius/Leo18/05/2025 until 05/12/2026

Now we have Rahu expanding Aquarius, and Ketu reducing Leo. What do these signs demonstrate?

I like to describe Aquarius as the sign of disruption. It rules anything disruptive, that transforms society and changes life as we know it. Aquarius rules science, technology, inventions and new discoveries. It also rules radical politics, conspiracy theories, science fiction, as well as any kind of fringe/unusual area of study — including astrology itself.

Leo is the sign of the might lion, it represents the king, aristocracy and things related to it. It rules rulers, leaders and those in power. It also relates to arts, drama, creativity — as these are pursuits of the wealthy, much like in ancient royal courts. Leo also relates a lot to tradition, representing long-standing structures or customs, conventions and rituals in society. It deals a lot with pomp and circumstance, flattery and deference to authorities.

Mundane Predictions

Ketu in Leo

Ketu in the sign of the cuddly cat will reduce the matters explained above, creating a sense of detachment about them.

One of the main areas affected by this transit will be the arts. Saturn in Pisces (since March 2025) will similarly afflict artists. So this influence is intensified by the double transit. Movies, music, TV will all be affected. We are likely to see staff cuts, reductions, mergers and crisis in these sectors.

The writers strike of 2007 happened while Ketu was in Leo the last time. Similarly, we could see a strike happening, although I don’t believe it will be as big as that one was. Still, we will see changes in regards to drama and fiction. People might be strongly disinterested or uninvested about it. Less people could go to the movies. Audiences might prefer reality shows, documentaries or more realistic content overall.

Show business in general could deal with troubles, mistakes and delays during this transit. Watch as movies, music and other projects can suffer from production problems and delays. Lawsuits can similarly gain prominence and create problems in the industry.

Disruption to institutions and traditions around the world are a possibility. Reforms, reductions or cuts are favored now. Authority figures, specially long-standing ones, tend to lose power now. Budget cuts are a strong possibility too. Leo favors the traditional elite, or oligarchy, of a place. Ketu here will do the opposite, and these groups will tend to face great trouble now.

Rahu in Aquarius

Rahu in Aquarius transit is very favorable for technology, I’ve wrote about it before, but it is important to highlight this trend. Great advancements tend to happen during this transit. During the previous transit, between 2006 and 2008, the original iPhone was launched. Which started the smartphone and social media age we live in. Similarly, major advancements could be unveiled now too.

For this current transit, I believe we will see further advances in AI capabilities and usage. It will tend to become ubiquitous and unescapable, in many ways.

In regards to politics, Rahu here will favor anyone radical or disruptive. Whether you like them or not, might I add. Radicals you like will advance, radicals you dislike will also advance. The key is being a radical, being disruptive and transformative. Breaking away from tradition and the status quo, taking a fresh approach. On some level, establishment institutions tend to be weakened now.

Discoveries and revelations, in regards to science and fringe knowledge, are another strong trend with this transit. We might see some medical advancements or discoveries now.

Transit and Timeline

With any transit, it is interesting to look at past cycles to understand better the current one.

  • Rahu in Aquarius, Ketu in Leo previous transit: 11/10/2006-30/04/2008
  • Rahu in Leo, Ketu in Aquarius previous transit: 29/01/2016-17/08/2017

Looking back, this transit is a nodal return to around 2008. Some astrologers believe that an economic crisis, similar to the one around 2007-2008, could happen now. I personally don’t believe it. The variables then were different, and this wasn’t the decisive transit for that crisis.

Still, I see many of the trends from around that time coming back in some form. As mentioned above, 2007 was the launch of the first iPhone, so this coming period could show similar tech innovations. Those years also saw strikes in Hollywood, and great success for reality shows. Similarly, we could see problems with fiction and movie production coming into play now.

Looking at 2016-2017, we’ve had the beginning of the first Trump term. It is very symbolic to see the second term happening during a Nodal Inversion for the first one. With Rahu in Leo, around 2017, the establishment was favored. Now with Rahu in Aquarius, disruption will be favored. So greater change is possible.
