April 2026 in Astrology

April starts amidst the War in Iran, the disruptions caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and other issues around the world. This begets some recaps and considerations about the future.

The month starts tense, as Mars will trigger the February Solar Eclipse, promoting turmoil and violent incursions. Similarly, as we head towards a Lunar Eclipse on the 3rd, we can be uncertain or unstable. On that note, military conflicts will tend to continue for much of early March. This first week of March can be very odd, specially around the 3rd.

March 2026 predictions

Along for the ride as well, March had a very tight Saturn-Neptune conjunction. Separating, but still going on in April. Neptune represents oil, in mundane astrology, while Saturn shows restrictions. Mercury retrograde, throughout last month, also showed stalled negotiations and a repetitive back-and-forth. Also worth noting that the Solar Eclipse in February happened conjunct the natal Moon in the birth chart of the United States, showing an eventful and transformative moment in the country’s life.

Going into the long term, I have to get into Uranus in Taurus. Uranus shows disruptions, Taurus shows the things that are stable and guaranteed in life. So Uranus here shows disruptions in our way of life, in the stability of the world, and how things usually tend to go.

These disruptions in global shipping, as well as the flow of fuel around the world, are a great expression of the Uranian disruptions this transit will tend to bring. Uranus entered Taurus last year, and it will be in the sign until around 2032. So other events, similar or not to this one, will tend to happen in the coming years; shaking up supplies and commodities around the world.

So, in the long term, I see this conflict as a clear expression of the Uranus in Taurus impulse. If we look carefully, all the themes about it are related to Taurus and the second house. Supplies, money, stability, long-standing agreements, traditional institutions, etc.

In the not so long term, the second half of 2026 can deal a lot with reforms stemming from this conflict. The Saturn-Neptune influence will wane by them, and the aftermath of this conjunction usually deals with reforms. For instance, in 1989, there was a great oil spill by the Exxon Valdez during the last conjunction. The aftermath of said accident dealt with new regulations and safety standards.

In our current predicament, we could see changes in manufacturing, to increase local supplies and reduce the reliance on global shipping. Alternative fuels or new energy forms can also be highlighted. Some oil producing countries might change their pricing policies for oil, maybe increasing local subsidies.

Going into April, Mars will enter Pisces and join Saturn and Neptune. Mars is a dynamic influence, it fires up and activates whatever it touches.

Is this good, or is this bad? Is a question every astrologer is asked, some will answer with wishful thinking. I will answer with sincerity, I don’t know. Je sais pas. I’m not sure.

Mars can fire up things, and cause a quick resolution to this conflict. Maybe. It can also create further escalations and make the whole affair longer.

The only certainty with this Mars is fieriness. We will see more direct, stronger and more resolute actions. Around the exact conjunctions with Neptune and Saturn (13th and 19th, respectively), we could see stronger military actions or pushes happening.

The Full Moon starts this month right on the 1st, it happens in Hasta nakshatra, a star associated with trickery, deceit and underhanded tactics. It has a theme of deception, not that different to Neptune. The Full Moon will also happen alongside a quincunx to Mercury, showing communication failures. As well as a square to Jupiter; which shows lack of wisdom, as well as a key moment in the year.

A few hours after the Full Moon, Mars will enter Pisces on the 2nd. As with the ramifications explained above. Mars will be in Pisces until May 11th, when it will enter Aries. That end, in May, might show a turbulent moment. As Mars changing between Water and Fire signs usually tends to show extremes in the world, with wild weather or tense events.

Mars in Pisces, per se, is not a bad placement or transit. But with Mars going over Neptune and Saturn, things take a different turn, specially now in April. In May, the transit can tone down, as Mars will be away from Saturn.

On April 10th, Mercury will enter Pisces, where it will transit until the 29th. This is the weakest sign for Mercury, showing diffusive communications and a hard time getting a message across. It goes along with the themes of deception seen from other factors this month.

The 14th has the Sun entering Aries, which is the strongest sign for the Sun, and an overall good placement. It shows strong leadership, which can be a positive in a time of conflict, so a silver-lining of sorts.

The New Moon this month happens on Ashwini nakshatra, a star that deals with healing, travel, movement and an overall sense of freedom. It could show some improvements to our situation, specially around May.

Summary

Mundane

The war and its consequences around the world, with higher prices and disruptions in supply chains are a clear expression of the long term trend, with Uranus in Taurus. From now until 2032, we can see similar events unveiling instability and disruptions.

In the short term, this month, Mars enters Pisces where it will touch Neptune and Saturn. Mars will fire up the conflicts around the world. Whether that will lead to a quick resolution, or further escalations, remains up for the debate. But around the dates of these conjunctions (13th and 19th) we can see further escalations. Specially around the 19th, with the Saturn conjunction, we could see strong escalations.

The month starts with a Full Moon in Hasta, a star that deals with deception. The conjunctions of Saturn and Mars with Neptune will activate this planet, that similarly deals with deception. Mercury will be in Pisces between April 10th and the 29th, Mercury here deals with miscommunications.

Putting it all together, April can deal a lot with deception, a murky vision and a hard time getting a clear picture of what is happening. Propaganda, lies and miscommunications will be very strong now. Things will be clearer in May. For now, much will be up in the air.

Notable dates in April:

  • 1st/2nd
  • 8th
  • 13th/14th
  • 19th
  • 18th-25th
  • 29th

Personal

On a personal level, Saturn-Neptune tends to unveil crisis, not just in the outer world. Bouts of depression and dissatisfaction could’ve been common last month and in late February, as this conjunction was very tight then.

As said above, Mars will energize these planets. In our lives, this can mean taking action, venturing out and making change.

This month is a great time to break out of erratic patterns, repetitive behaviors and past issues in our lives. Stop moving in circles, try something new, experiment and grow.

Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (17/02/2026)

An important point when analyzing eclipses and their effects is to understand that, generally, places where the eclipse is visible will see more effects than places where no visibility happens. It is also important to understand that eclipses have long sprawling effects, instead of immediate ones. New Moons and Full Moons affect the weeks around them, indicating monthly trends; Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses affect the months around them, indicating yearly trends. The effects discussed below are things that will tend to happen in the next 6 months.

Visibility: Pacific, Atlantic, Antarctica, South in Africa, South in South America

Solar Eclipse at 04° Aquarius, Dhanishtha Nakshatra

The Eclipse will happen in Dhanishtha nakshatra, a star symbolized by a drum. It is usually related to wealth and success. It shows the hollowness of life, that can be transformed through our touch and involvement. It deals with creating, making and finding meaning in life.

The Solar Eclipse will happen with a powerful square to Uranus, which intensifies the Aquarius energy of change and transformation. This Eclipse can deal a lot with great revelations and changes, in regards to politics and technology.

The Eclipse will be visible around Argentina and Chile, two countries that have been dealing with forest fires earlier this year. I tend to believe that issues around these countries will continue and/or become prominent. As Eclipses are long spanning, those two countries could be dealing with change and conflict in the coming months, maybe for most of the first half of 2026.

The Eclipse will also be visible around South Africa, so events and changes there could also happen.

Outside of visibility, but still important, is the fact that the chart of the United States will be affected by the Eclipse as well.

The birth Moon of the US, at 7° Aquarius, will be conjunct the Solar Eclipse. In a mundane chart, the Moon rules the masses, the people. So the Eclipse could signal a change in mood in America, with people changing their minds in some way.

Still, I believe this Solar Eclipse could harbor some positive effects for the US. The star of Dhanishtha relates a lot to wealth and good fortune, so some upturns in the economy are a possibility. Specially in March, this could happen.

As the Moon rules mentality, we can also see a change in mentality for the country. Again, this goes in line with the cultural changes and long term trends I’ve mentioned in other texts. The Solar Eclipse here promotes a new way of thinking for the country. There will be disruption and discomfort associated with this, and some broken taboos could cause shock. But overall, I see this as a good trend in the long term.

Finally, the Moon rules the 8th house of transformation and speculation/finances. This again reinforced the idea that the Eclipse will promote great changes in the country’s way of thinking, as well as the possibility of upturns in the economy.

A final mundane point deals with Mars. On March 1st, Mars will transit the exact degree of this Solar Eclipse, reactivating these energies. So March could start with a bang, with major turns or events happening then.

On a personal level, this Solar Eclipse in Aquarius is a great moment to breakout of old taboos and personal restrictions we have. It is a good time to explore, take chances, discover something new and expand our world.

People with planets around 4° in the fixed signs (Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio) can feel this Eclipse more strongly. Maybe some surprises or big life changes can happen now. From my Eclipses Guide (a recommended reading), I usually say that these personal effects are only notable when conjunct or opposing the Eclipse, which would be Aquarius and Leo.

But the true strong, life changing, effects of Eclipses only come when a personal point in our charts is touched by one. That is, when a planet is within 5° conjunct or opposing an Eclipse.

How Will The Eclipse Affect Me?

However, with the Uranus aspect in this Eclipse, I see an exception and I believe that Taurus and Scorpio could also be affected this time. So do check if your chart has a planet in these degrees of these signs!
